All you need is a rag.

 

How To Check Oil in 7 Easy Steps 

  1. Park your vehicle on a level surface.
  2. Turn off the engine.
  3. Open the hood.
  4. Locate and remove the oil dipstick.
  5. Wipe the oil off of the dipstick with a rag.
  6. Reinsert the dipstick to the fully seated position.
  7. Remove the dipstick and check the level on the stick.

That’s all there is to it, now you know how to check oil.

 

This is also a good time for a few other quick steps

  1. Top off your washer fluid.
  2. Check all of your under hood fluids.
  3. Do a quick walk around, look for anything out of the ordinary.
  4. Check the pressure and condition of your tires.
